Phased array technology uses multiple ultrasonic elements or crystals to generate sound into components being inspected.

This is done by applying electronic time delays to the elements in phased array probes to create beams that can be steered, scanned, swept, and focused electronically.

The major benefit of doing so allows for fast inspection, full data storage, and multiple angle inspections. Phased array technology provides precise measurement with the most reliable results.PA probes can be used for free hand scanning but to increase productivity are normally used in pairs on a dedicated scanner (flat or curved) scanning both sides of the weld at the same time.

Ordering Instructions

Conventional Ultrasonic Phased Array transducer frequency is 1MHz ~15MHz. Element quantity is from 8 to 128 however custom probes can be up to 1024 elements. The options here provide full information of Phased Array Probes / transducers manufactured in several different configurations including Linear(L), Matrix(M), Annular(A), Concave(C) and Integrated Wedge.

There are a range of products that can be used with the conventional PA equipment. However, there is a large amount of custom products available for components with complex geometry, lack of access or large areas  Other type of transducers can be customized according to customers requirements. wedges, connectors, connector switches and extension cables are also available.
